Founded in 1974, the "Duck" has played its unique brand of Australian folk and dance music to thousands of people around the world, including tours to Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Mauritius.
The band plays for many corporate and government/community events. Like the ANZAC day breakfast at Supreme Court Gardens in Perth, the World Masters Swimming Championships and WAs biggest naturalisation ceremonies.The end of 2009 found the band at Government House for the Governer of WA and in early 2010 a function for the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd during his visit to Perth.
Many couples have started their marriages with Mucky Duck playing at their wedding receptions, always with great success. There's no better way to have your guests intermingle than a bush dance. That goes for birthday "bashes" as well.
Thousands of W.A kids have benefited from our educational school shows and many parents exclaim " You played at MY primary school". The lineup has changed since 1974 but the energy and humour remain an integral part of our performance.
Bush dancing with the Mucky Duck is not just about listening to bush songs but getting up and linking hands with a mate, a child or a total stranger and having a great time.
