John has been in bands since the age of 14, playing various instruments and singing. These days he plays double bass and is also well known on the Perth Jazz scene. He has performed from the Edinburgh Festival to Eneabba and has been a member of the Mucky Duck since 1983. He lives in the Perth hills. Need information on the band? Don Blue

Professional musician for many years, appearing in groups like Toad Hall, Fiddlers Green (folk), Wolfsbane (folk rock), Palais Glide (pop rock), Stringybach (popular classical instrumental), Freo String Trio (classical jazz folk). Plays guitars, bass, mandolin, keyboard, vocals. Influences - Britney Spears. Musical influences - Bach, Jethro Tull, Beatles, Kate Bush.

Erik Kowarski

Erik is one of Western Australia’s, and possibly Australia’s, most accomplished and versatile fiddlers. With a classical upbringing and a deep connection with folk music and improvisation, Erik is equally at home accompanying songs, playing tunes or improvising dynamic solo’s. Eriks recording studio in Bassendean, www.pocketuniverse.com.au  specialises in acoustic instrument recording to the highest possible standards.

Roy Abbott

Roy often joins with the band as he was a member for 20 years. Multi talented, he has written many of the bands most popular songs, including “And When They Dance”. Roy and John are “Arfa Duck”, a versatile and fun duo for smaller events.

Four professional musicians who each have unique and varied skills. From the classically trained Erik to the spoon playing John they all have a love of folk music, a dedication to education and a desire to ensure that cultural aspects of our Australian heritage are passed on to the next generation.
